How G-Webcall Works

Step 1: Register Your Globe Number

1. Before making a call, you need to register an account first. To register, send <GWEB ON> to 2865 via your Globe Handyphone
2. You will receive an SMS confirming successful registration together with a generated password
3. You may also use the following keywords for your convenience

Step 2: Making a Call

From a laptop/PC with internet connection

  1. Log on to www.g-webcall.com and download the application. You may however still use the softphone embedded in the website.

  2. Enters username (your Globe mobile number) and password
  3. Ensures that the headsets and microphones are connected and are working properly
  4. Dial the Globe number you wish to call (917-xxx-xxxx). Add the prefix 1280 to the 10-digit Globe number if you are calling an online G-webcall user (e.g. 1280917-xxx-xxxx)

From an O2 XDA WiFi enabled handset

  1. Ensure that your handset is connected to WiFi
  2. Log on to www.g-webcall.com to download application to the mobile device
  3. Launch the G-Webcall application on your WiFi enabled device
  4. Enters username and password
  5. Dial the Globe number you wish to call (917-xxx-xxxx). Add the prefix 1280 to the 10-digit Globe number if you are calling an online G-webcall user (e.g. 1280917-xxx-xxxx)

What is G-Webcall?

This is Globe’s latest service offering for Globe POSTPAID subscribers. The G-Webcall service uses one of the newest mobile innovation which is VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol. VOIP allows calls using the internet to any Globe or Touch Mobile number from anywhere in the world. Calls to other networks are not yet available at this time.

It has a very competitive call rate of only Php 7.50 per minute when calling a Globe or Touch Mobile number. Thus providing Globe postpaid subscribers, significant savings on their IDD inbound and outbound calls. For inbound IDD, subscribers can save as much as 75% versus other IDD calling services.

For subscribers using the g-webcall service and calling another g-webcall user, the service will be for FREE.

The service allows postpaid subscribers with a G-Webcall account to call a Globe or Touch Mobile number anywhere in the world.

What are the features of G-Webcall?

Your G-Webcall account has the following features:

  1. Phonebook, maximum of 50 entries names & numbers
  2. Last 10 dialed and received calls (with date and time of call)
  3. When subscriber logs on, “missed call” messages will appear indicating the numbers of subscribers who called, the corresponding date and time of the calls. System will only be able to store only the last 10 missed calls
  4. Call timer
  5. Single button toll free customer service call out found in the softphone keypad OR just dial 211.
  6. Redial button when pressed, will call last called number
  7. Downloadable file can be stored in USB or sent to friends via e-mail.

What are the basic requirements of a G-Webcallaccount?

To avail of this service, Globe subscribers should meet the following:

  1. Subscriber should be on postpaid plan
  2. Subscriber should have a laptop or Desktop PC with headphones and microphone that is logged on or connected to the internet, whether they are in their homes, the office or an internet cafe. OR, they can use a mobile O2XDA phone model. For O2XDA phone users, they can directly make calls using their mobile phones without the need for a headset and microphone. New phone models that allows direct VOIP call will be made available later on.
  3. Access to the internet. Access may be done at home or at the nearest Internet Café.

What happens if the party I called is busy or has logged out?

  1. If recipient is not logged on, the caller will hear the unattended message “The subscriber cannot be reached. Please try again later.”
  2. If recipient is busy with another call, the caller will hear a busy tone and the recipient will receive a missed call notification, including the mobile no. of the calling party.
  3. If called party rejects an incoming call, the caller will hear a busy tone

Can I lend my G-Webcallaccount number, log-in ID and password?

Yes, subscribers have the option to lend their G-webcall account details to their family or friends. However, subscribers will still be accountable for the payment of calls made using the G-Webcall service.

Can I stop the unauthorized use of my G-Webcallaccount?

Yes, subscribers have the option to turn-off their G-Webcall account by simply texting “GWEB OFF” to 2865. NOTE: this will not terminate an ongoing GWEB call session but can prevent subsequent calls from being placed.

Is there a way for me to know if my G-Webcallaccount is in used?

Yes, whenever a user logs-on, the G-Webcall account holder will receive a notification via text. Once the user stops using the G-Webcall service or hangs up, a text message will be sent to the G-Webcall account holder with the ff info:

  1. Dialed number
  2. Call duration
  3. Date and time of call (from start to end)

If I’m on a G2P mode on my postpaid line, can I still access my G-Webcall account?

Subscriber needs to be on postpaid mode to have access to the G-Webcall account.
When on prepaid mode using G2P, access to the G-Webcall service will be blocked.

Will my G-Web password expire?

Yes. Your password will expire every 180 days. To get a new password simply text “ GWEB ON ”.

Do I have the option to change my password?

Yes. Just text “ GWEB SETPASS <new password>” to 2865.

For postpaid accounts that have been re-directed, TD’d and PD’d, what happens to their G-Webcall account?

  1. Redirected accounts will not have access to G-Webcall service.
  2. G-Webcall service account is also co-terminus with the postpaid account such that when the account is terminated/permanently disconnected, G-Webcall account will be terminated as well
  3. For reconnected accounts, subscriber needs to register to avail of the service.

Is there a cap on my calls whenever I log-in?

Yes, each log-in calls will have a 60 minutes cap. Once you attain 60 minutes of calls for a single number, the call will be terminated. To continue calling using the G-Webcall service, just log-in again and start calling.

How will I be billed for my G-WebcallService?

Your G-Webcall usage will be charged to your postpaid billed and will also form part of your postpaid monthly credit limit.

Where can I inquire about my G-Webcallusages?

Usage inquiry will be included in PLAN UNBILLED access to 2312

What can I do if Globe Logo did not appear?

No prompt appeared to install Softphone IAX2 Client ActiveX Control

  1. Check your browser security settings
  2. Click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Security
  3. Choose Custom Level
  4. Set Binary and script behaviors Enable
  5. Set Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt or Enable
  6. Set Run ActiveX controls and plugins to Enable
  7. Set Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting to Enable
  8. Click Ok to save your changes

If your security settings are set and you still can’t install the Softphone IAX2 Client ActiveX Control. Please contact your Systems Administrator to enable the downloading of ActiveX controls
